Chief People Officer
You build the people function and the culture for a union, high-road carrier. We signed the CWA High Road Agreement on May 1, 2026. Your job is to make the workforce promise real: living wages, a genuine apprenticeship and training pipeline, and a safety culture that holds.
You build the people function from the first hire and scale a field workforce across a national buildout.
What you'll do:
- Design HR operations: benefits, compensation, performance, and compliance.
- Execute CWA labor alignment and build the apprenticeship and training pipeline.
- Build safety programs for field work: climbing, underground, and electrical.
- Own recruiting, onboarding, and retention as headcount scales across markets.
- Roll out the employee-ownership and founding-equity programs.
- Build career pathways that turn crews into long-term careers.
What we're looking for:
- 10+ years in HR or people operations, with 5+ in senior leadership.
- Direct experience in union or labor environments (CWA, IBEW, or similar).
- Track record building training and apprenticeship programs for technical workforces.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements for telecom field work.
- Experience scaling a workforce through rapid growth.
