OSP Engineer
You design the plant before anyone breaks ground. Route by route, splice by splice, you decide how fiber reaches every home and business in the footprint. Your prints are what the crews build from.
This is a ground-up FTTH network. You set the design standard, and it gets built the way you drew it.
What you'll do:
- Design FTTH and PON routes: aerial and underground placement, fiber counts, and splice schematics.
- Develop make-ready, pole-attachment, and joint-trench plans with utilities.
- Produce permit and right-of-way design packages for SDOT and other jurisdictions.
- Build bills of materials and feed accurate quantities to procurement and field ops.
- Keep GIS and CAD plant records accurate, from design through as-built.
- Work under the VP of Network Engineering to hold the OSP design standard across the buildout.
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years in OSP (outside plant) design, with FTTH or PON experience required.
- Fluent with GIS and CAD tools for plant design and documentation.
- Working knowledge of NESC, pole-attachment make-ready, and local permitting.
- Able to turn a design into a buildable, permittable package.
- Strong coordination with construction crews, utilities, and permitting agencies.
- You design plant you would be proud to have built.
