Queer-founded Seattle startup offers modern home phone plans starting at $25/month with Kid Safe Numbers, Call Screening, and Wellness Check-ins for elderly family members

ClearBeam Networks, a family-owned telecommunications company, today announced the general availability of HomeStation, a residential home phone service designed for families who want a reliable, screen-free way to stay connected. HomeStation plans start at $25 per month and include features purpose-built for family life, including Kid Safe Numbers for children, automated Wellness Check-ins for elderly relatives, and Quiet Hours to protect dinnertime and bedtime.

HomeStation arrives as a growing number of American parents are rethinking their relationship with smartphones and screens. From New York City to rural Maine, families are voluntarily adopting home phones as a way to give kids a communication tool without the baggage of social media, notifications, and infinite scroll. Utah's recent legislation restricting minors' access to social media has further accelerated the conversation. The home phone, once considered a relic, is becoming a deliberate choice.

How HomeStation Works

HomeStation runs on ClearBeam's own voice network, with points of presence in San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Tacoma, and Washington, DC. Customers plug in a standard phone adapter or desk phone and get a local number with a full set of modern features. There are no contracts, no equipment fees, and no hidden charges.

Three plans are available:

Kid Safe Numbers

The Family plan's Kid Safe Numbers feature gives children their own phone number that can only call and receive calls from an approved contact list managed by parents. Kids get independence. Parents get peace of mind. No screen required.

Wellness Check-ins

For families with elderly parents or grandparents living alone, HomeStation's Wellness Check-in feature places automated daily calls at a scheduled time. If the call goes unanswered, a family member is notified. It is a simple safety net that works over the most reliable device in the house.

About the Founders

ClearBeam Networks was founded by Tim and his husband Joe in Seattle. Before telecom, Tim spent a decade as a touring lighting designer, working with Earth, Wind & Fire, Def Leppard, Kid Cudi, K.Flay, and others. The company is entirely bootstrapped, with no outside investors and zero advertising spend. ClearBeam is also pursuing the acquisition of CenturyLink's Washington state local telephone operations through a filing with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (docket UT-250954).
